Even though EW1 is my favorite, I won't bash EW2 with negativity since there are people who might enjoy or prefer the sequel. It sacrificed a lot of its original concepts from the prequel to appeal to wider audiences. It came out almost like a brand new title rather than following the path of the original game. It came out almost like a brand new title rather than The Evil Within 2 is a slightly above average horror game with pretty looking graphics. The Evil Within 2 is a slightly above average horror game with pretty looking graphics. Terrific art design and well acted voice work even though they replaced the actor for the main character. An obvious upgrade over the first which I played on ps3. But besides being so damn derivative of RE4 and The Matrix at least it's really well polished, plays well, and is a bunch of fun. Then the top dog of Mobius is an agent Smith rip off and he has a bunch of agent goons. The fact that you know from the get go that you're in some sort of matrix like machine takes away much of the horror and intrigue from the first. ![]() God it feels like every single game has that. The giant, immobile boss that's fixed to the background. The final boss in The Evil Within 2 is one my least favorite video game clichés of all time. The first one was scarier and more memorable with better creature designs. They're not even pretending it's anything different this time around. Story wise you're a law enforcement agent that's sent to a mysterious, creepy, zombie filled world to rescue a girl. This one somehow felt even more like a rip off of Resident Evil 4. Unlike movies, the sequel is usually better. Usually that's not the case in video games. ![]() This one Have to say I liked the first one more. ![]() ![]() ![]() Returning as someone who’d played the game on another platform, I did find Citizen Sleeper a lot less daunting this time around, and felt a lot more confident in my ability to establish myself on the Eye and game its systems to pull myself out of poverty. There’s not much to say about the game’s port to PS5 and PS4 specifically, it’s by and large the same game available on other platforms, but it’s (hopefully) a whole new community of players given the chance to experience this indie masterpiece. It’s an intoxicating mix of sci-fi flavoured capitalism critique aboard a diverse and characterful space station, tabletop mechanics, time management and branching narrative that’s deceptively simple with a powerful mechanical underbelly. The long and short of it all is this If you’re a PlayStation player and haven’t played Citizen Sleeper yet, please do. I’m going to abstain from re-explaining what Citizen Sleeper is – you can read my full review of the game’s original release right underneath this write-up – and speak strictly to the new stuff, namely the PlayStation release and the full run of story DLC.
